In a bid to safeguard Lebanon’s coastline and marine life from pollution, SWIM Initiative Lebanon has emerged as a leading force. Established in 2020, SWIM is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices through community engagement, environmental stewardship, and education.

What does S.W.I.M Do?

SWIM focuses on three core principles:

Environmental Stewardship: Acting as guardians of the environment, SWIM works tirelessly to conserve marine ecosystems and natural resources.

Community Engagement: By involving volunteers, businesses, students, and sports clubs, SWIM encourages collective action for environmental initiatives.

Education and Awareness: SWIM raises awareness about marine pollution and advocates for positive changes in behavior, such as reducing waste and recycling.

On August 10, SWIM Initiative Lebanon is partnering with Virgin Radio Lebanon to organize a special event: the World Scuba Diving Day Clean-Up.

This event will bring together divers from across Lebanon to clean up underwater trash along the coast, from Tyre to Tripoli. The goal is to remove marine pollution and promote diving tourism in Lebanon.

How You Can Help: Divers equipped with special bags will carefully collect trash from designated areas.

Collaboration: SWIM is working with dive centers nationwide to ensure the event’s success.

Impact: Collected waste will be sorted and disposed of responsibly, thanks to support from local partners.

By joining this effort, you can contribute to cleaner seas and a healthier marine environment in Lebanon. Stay tuned for updates on this impactful event and join SWIM Initiative Lebanon and Virgin Radio Lebanon in their mission to protect Lebanon’s marine treasures.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure that our oceans remain vibrant for generations to come.
